HOW IT WORKS
Ink Off Laser Tattoo Removal use YAG lasers (the newest member of the Q-Switched class of lasers) to remove tattoos with extremely low risk of scarring.
This laser will emit certain wavelengths of light. When the wavelengths emitted come in contact with the skin, they pass through the skin but are absorbed by tattoo pigment. The laser is designed to emit the wavelengths of light that most closely match the colors of ink most common to tattoos.
When the light from the laser hits the skin, while passing through the skin, it will be absorbed by the ink only and break the ink up. The ink is then removed by the body through its natural filtering system. You will be able to see your tattoo fading away, this process takes 4-6 weeks depending on your health and the lymphatic system.
The great majority of tattoos, whether professional or home made, respond to our laser treatments. Some Pigments, especially green, orange and yellow are more difficult than other colours to eradicate, but even they usually respond following a prolonged course of treatment. And now with even more research and advanced technology removing colour is proving to be successful. The only colour in our experience that is impossible to remove is white.
Amateur tattoos are more easily removed; however, with any tattoo you will see a lightening after every treatment. Once the tattoo has been successfully removed the result is permanent.
Depending on the depth of ink, quality of ink, health & professionalism of the tattoo will depend on how many sessions you require. Each laser treatment takes only a few minutes to complete. Furthermore, the pigment will never return after it is removed. After laser tattoo removal, there is some redness and mild blistering like a sunburn. This resolves in 3-7 days in which aftercare will need to be used.
Every tattoo is different anywhere Between 1-6 sessions best outcome
Between 6-12 sessions most common outcome
Between 12-20 sessions worst case scenario
Fading your tattoo for purposes of having your ink covered up most clients have 1-4 sessions
DOES IT HURT?
Some people describe it as being similar to being snapped with a piece of rubber band and some say that it is quite similar to having a tattoo. If you are concerned about you can purchase an anesthetic cream called Emla which would num and de-sensitize the area by 50%. Emla is Available at most chemists .
We recommend that you do not swim in public pools for up to 5 days after your treatment to avoid infection. Daily dressings of Savlon and a padded gauze or dressing to protect the tattoo are advised this helps the healing of the fading process.
